A federal judge in Ohio says the state must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. The ruling from Judge Timothy Black does not open same-sex marriages within Ohio. Black has stayed his ruling pending appeals. The ruling stems from a lawsuit filed by four gay couples seeking to both be listed on their children's birth certificates as parents. Black's stay means that his decision applies only to the four couples who filed the lawsuit.
