Starbucks Sending Baristas To College at ASU

Posted June 16th, 2014 @ 2:59pm

Starbucks has created a partnership, of sorts, to assist its baristas in furthering their education.  (See The Seattle Times story here.)  Arizona State University and Starbucks will offer discounted tuition (partial reimbursement) for college Freshman and Sophomores, while Juniors and Seniors will get their last two years free as part of a full reimbursement program.

Baristas from company owned stores would need to work at least 20 hours/week.  They, in turn, receive the above benefits and can choose from one of 40 programs.  (This includes employees of Teavana, La Boulange, Evolution Fresh and Seattle's Best Coffee.)

In case the kids are looking for a summer job...
