Hospitals Limiting Visitations Due to Flu Outbreak

(Toledo, OH) Many Northwest Ohio hospitals are limiting visitations because of a spike in flu cases.

Mercy Health System is among those trying to protect patients by limiting visitors to reduce the risk that patients come in contact with the flu virus or a respiratory illness. Those limitations will remain in place until such cases decrease. Children 14 and younger are also asked to refrain from visitations.

A Toledo cab driver is among the four people who have died in the past week from flu-related symptoms in Lucas County.

71-year old Michael Orwig died last Thursday after driving cabs for more than 40 years. Family members say he developed pneumonia and suffered a heart attack after being hospitalized on New Year's Day.
