(Toledo, OH) A judge will name a new member of the Washington Local School Board later today.
The job fell to Judge Jack Puffenberger after the Washington Local board of education tied two-to-two in naming a replacement for former school board member Patrick Hickey, who resigned once Michigan state police charged him with sexual misconduct involving a then-14-year old former student when he was a teacher and girls basketball coach.
The probate court judge interviewed all seven candidates who expressed an interest in the open seat last week, including the two involved in the tie vote-- Christopher Sharp and Irshad (IR-shod) Bannister.
Under state law, the judge must name someone this week.
