St. Joseph Labor Day Festival

St. Joseph Catholic Church will hold their annual Labor Day Weekend Festival on Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2 on the parish grounds located at 2214 Manhattan, in Erie.

Tasty festival delights kick-off on Friday with a Perch Basket, so there’s no need to wait until Lent to eat some of that famous St. Joseph’s perch. A Steak Dinner will be offered on Saturday from 2:00 until they’re sold out and their delicious Chicken Dinner will be on Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m. Along with these specialty dinners there will be sausage, ice cream, funnel cakes and much more all weekend.

Festival goers will enjoy free admission and continuous entertainment all weekend. Entertainment headliners are “Black Swamp Rebels “on Friday from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.  On Saturday we have  “Bareli, May, & Dale” from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and “Rye Whiskey” from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.  We’re excited to bring back Polka Dancing on Sunday with “Millie’s Polka Band” from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  The festival will end with “56 Daze” from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.

The second annual Car & Bike Show will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.  The exhibit fee is $5 per car.  There will be a dash plaque for each exhibitor, driver’s pool, 50/50 draw along with door prizes.  Also, the second annual Craft Show will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.  The Cornhole tournament will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Other tournaments include men’s and women’s softball and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. To register for any of these events, call the parish rectory at 734-848-6125. 

The festival offers bingo, kid’s games, and inflatables for the kids.  There will also be a petting zoo, carriage rides and a gambling tent with Texas Hold'em, Blackjack, and Big Six Wheel.  There will be Bingo every day until 9:00pm

The main raffle drawing will be at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. First prize is $1,500.00, second prize is $1,000.00, and third prize is $500.00. License numbers: Bingo #V09272, Raffle #C28571 Millionaire #M98158
