Downtown Toledo Beautification Takes Another Step Forward

Downtown Toledo Beautification— ConnecToledo Adding Planters to Enhance the Downtown

Toledo, Ohio, June 3, 2021 — ConnecToledo Downtown Development Corporation has purchased 60 new planters for downtown city center sidewalks. On Friday, community volunteers will help with the planting. A public call for volunteers went out and numerous people responded and will be assisting the ConnecToledo staff in making downtown a more colorful place. “Improving the aesthetics of downtown is important as we welcome people back from their COVID absence. In the coming years, we intend to add more planters and maintain them with a variety of plantings,” said Cindy Kerr, Vice President.

The planting event will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Volunteer teams will meet at Levis Square Park at 1:00 p.m. where the flowers will be distributed. Teams will walk to the various planters on St. Clair Street, Madison Avenue, Superior Street and Huron Street.
