The Wendy Williams Show Is Cancelled And I'm Kinda Sad About It

Now her show made me laugh and sometimes cry and sometimes I thought it was a mess! Wendy Williams has been a staple in media for decades. I never actually listened to her on the radio in New York but its legendary and you can find cringe worthy clips today. She asked THE questions and sometimes got herself in trouble. She literally fought on the air and off with fellow broadcasters. She's been open about her struggles with her weight, pregnancy, drug use and even her job in radio.

I came to love her show after I had my son. He was boen early and had to be in NICU. My pregnancy was tough on me with high blood pressure, Dominick was diagnosed with IUGR in utero so it was a struggle. So when we came home with this little 3 pound baby, I was excited, scared, worried, and exhausted. At home we continued his NICU feeding and diaper change schedule so it made it easier to know when we was going to be up or down for sleep. Dominick always timed a sleep around The Wendy Williams show. So I'd watch. Gossip. Interviews. So I was able to kind of relax and zone out just watching. More I watched the more I learned about her because she was so forthcoming about her life. Sher shared her personal stories about her own difficult pregnancy. I remember the day she shared when she was let go in New York and had such a hard time at her new job in Philadelphia. (I have been laid off in radio so many times so it was and she were so incredibly relatable!). I had just started with a new radio gig and then soon became pregnant....oops. So I was feeling pressure and guilt. After maternity I returned and ended up recording her show but never had time to watch episodes but I kept track of her. Then, it was the collapse of her marriage. In public. Which revealed her husband cheated and then fathered a child with someone else. This was at the point when her only child went off to college. She filed for divorce and then health issues began to arise and Wendy was off the show more and more. She's had a tough go these last couple of years so I empathize with her. I hope she comes back when she's ready.

I'm still salty about the time I missed meeting her. She was on a multi city promo tour for the premiere of the show and she was stopping in different cities to sit and be interviewed on radio. I was not the one doing the interview but she went around and said to some people and I missed her! The liaison walked her by my studio but didn't stop. Just took her to the elevator. Still. Mad.

So The Wendy Williams Show ends and The Sherri Shepard Show begins....this fall.
