(Toledo, OH) Toledo's new mayor says there's plenty of reason for optimism, but sounds a warning during his first State of the City speech at the Ohio Theatre last night.
Mayor Wade Kapsukiewicz says the economy's humming-- but he lamented the loss of $100 million in state and federal funding over the last decade, which he blamed for a plethora of potholes and a lack of police officers patrolling the streets.
The mayor took credit for helping to create 542 new jobs in just a few weeks in office.
Kapsukiewicz also pledged to improve economic development, public safety and the city's neighborhoods, while unveiling a partnership with the University of Toledo to improve technology and a bike-share program with the Toledo Metroparks.
