John Mayer Gets Restraining Order Against Man After Receiving Death Threats

John Mayer has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who has allegedly been sending the singer inappropriate messages and death threats, as per court documents obtained by ET.

Initially reported by The Blast, Mayer's situation revolves around a man who has been harassing the star via social media with several references to serial killers like Ted Bundy and Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon. In documents for the order, the 41-year-old star says that he has received messages as early as March 2019 that "have put me in fear for myself and caused me substantial emotional distress" and claimed that the subject's "statements and behavior indicate an unhealthy obsession with me."

Mayer even admitted that the man showed up to one of his North Carolina appearances, but his security was able to identify him and stop him from entering the venue.
