Navy Gets its First Black Female Fighter Pilot

This is a really cool story! She is now a Tactical Fighter Pilot! A Black woman is making history in the Navy by becoming its first strike fighter pilot.Madeline Swegle[[SWEE-gull]] recently finished training and will receive her Wings of Gold on July 31st.

Rear Admiral Paula Dunn, the Navy's vice chief of information tweeted her very personal cheers. “Very proud of LTJG Swegle,” she writes via Twitter. “Go forth and kick butt.”

No doubt she will. Swegle, graduated the U.S. Naval Academy in 2017. She is currently assigned to the Redhawks of Training Squadron (VT) 21 at Naval Air Station Kingsville in Texas. HOOYAH!
