#GoodNews: Young Cancer Survivor Donates 44k Toys To Children’s Hospital

A 7-year-old cancer survivor is giving back to the hospital that treated him. Tripp Hughes just finished chemo at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

During the pandemic, patients weren’t allowed to share toys, so the toys went home with the kids. Tripp wanted to restock the hospitals toy supply, so he and his mom started a toy drive that brought in 4,400 new toys.

“They'd offer anything to make us just feel as at home as possible,” Tripp says. “So, we just wanted them to also feel the way that they made us feel.”
