An organization in Louisville, Kentucky set up a prom dress giveaway last weekend. High schoolers were able to shop for free for prom and graduation dresses.
Regardless of income, young ladies could shop for dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories, all totally free in the pop-up shop. And all of the items were donated by community members. “To see these girls walk in here and be able to get something that's been given,” says organizer Sandy Lathery. “It's a beautiful thing."
This is the first year for the event and so far, the group has given away 230 dresses. They hope to create a nonprofit and make it a yearly event.
