FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 29, 2018 Toledo Area Humane Society offering $5,000 reward for information regarding death of puppy. Toledo, OH – On Friday, May 25, 2018 the Toledo Area Humane Society received a three month old, black and brown, female puppy in dire need of medical attention. According to the Good Samaritan that intervened and rescued the puppy, she was being kicked around by a group of “kids” in an alley off of Dorr Street in Toledo, Ohio 43604. When the puppy arrived at TAHS it was discovered that it had sustained a broken back, broken ribs, and internal injuries. Ultimately, the puppy passed away due to the severity of the injuries she sustained. Stephen Heaven, President/CEO of the Toledo Area Humane Society said “what makes this barbaric crime even more abhorrent is that, apparently, there were adults standing around watching.” The Toledo Area Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of the individuals responsible for this puppy’s death. Any information should be directed to the TAHS cruelty department, at 419-482-7103. All information received will remain confidential. As a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization we are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes. All of the funds raised at our events benefit the animals of the Toledo Area Humane Society. Donations help us continue our mission of leading the community in efforts focused on relieving the suffering of, preventing cruelty to, and providing for the humane treatment of animals. The Toledo Area Humane Society is open Monday-Friday from 12:00PM-6:00PM and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00PM5:00PM. For more information, visit www.ToledoHumane.org or www.facebook.com/toledohumane
