Its not often when you see the exact moment something like this happens. Looks like a pretty serene day on Lake Dunlap in Texas, but a spill gate at Dunlap Dam failed this past Tuesday morning, sending a wave of water crashing down the river and pretty dramatically lowering the level of the entire lake that lies upstream. A spokeswoman for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority said it is way too soon to determine what might happen with the destroyed spill gate or how long the lake will stay far below its normal levels. Homes along the shoreline are also being impacted.
